1. Background

In accordance with Spanish regulations governing the use of cookies in electronic communications services, particularly Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 of 11 July on information-society services and electronic commerce, we explain the cookies used on the ORBOOK SOLUCIONES DIGITALES, S.L. website and why they are used.

2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a file downloaded to your computer when you access certain websites. Cookies allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s or device’s browsing habits and, depending on their contents and how the device is used, may be used to recognise the user.

Cookies are linked only to an anonymous user and their device and do not provide references that reveal personal data.

3. Types of cookies

3.1. By the entity that manages them

First-party cookies: sent to the user’s device from equipment or a domain managed by the publisher and used to provide the service requested by the user.

Third-party cookies: sent from equipment or a domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes data obtained through the cookies.

3.2. By purpose

Technical cookies: enable navigation and use of the website’s functions and services, including traffic control, session identification, restricted access, order and payment management, fraud prevention, security, media delivery, dynamic content and social sharing. They are exempt from Article 22.2 LSSI only when used to provide a service explicitly requested by the user.

Preference or personalisation cookies: remember information such as language, number of search results, browser-specific appearance or region. Where the user directly chooses these features and the cookies serve only that purpose, they may be exempt from Article 22.2 LSSI.

Analytics or measurement cookies: allow monitoring and analysis of behaviour on linked websites, including measurement of advertising impact, to improve the website, application or platform.

Behavioural advertising cookies: store information obtained from continuous observation of browsing habits to build a profile and display relevant advertising.

3.3. By duration

Session cookies: collect and store data only while the user accesses a website and disappear when the session ends.

Persistent cookies: remain stored on the device and may be accessed and processed for a period set by the cookie owner, ranging from minutes to several years.
